University Honors students in good standing who are declared majors in Early Childhood, Elementary (including Bilingual), or Middle Level Teacher Education are eligible and encouraged to participate in the Teaching and Learning Honors program.

Admission requirements
be a declared Early Childhood Education major, Elementary Education (including Bilingual) major, or Middle Level Teacher Education major
hold a 3.3 cumulative GPA and a 3.5 major GPA
be a full time student at Illinois State University
at graduation must have a 3.3 cumulative GPA and a 3.5 major GPA
complete in-course honors projects in two C&I 3 credit-hour classes; Middle Level majors only must complete one C&I 3 credit-hour class and one 3 credit-hour class from first specialization department
complete one 3-hour independent study project (C&I 299) with a program faculty member
There is no application process for participation in the C&I Honors program. Early in the semester that you graduate, students file for a departmental honors designation through the Honors office.
Students are encouraged to maintain regular contact with the University Honors Program to ensure you are in good standing and are aware of other Honors designations.
