Teaching and Learning online courses reside on password-protected sites. In the week prior to the beginning of the semester, instructors generally notify students about how to gain access to the course. Some courses require the completion of an online orientation. C&I online courses are NOT self-paced. Students have to fully participate and submit assignments, e-mails, and discussions on a regular basis.
Most online courses use the Blackboard Learning System. Learn how to access Blackboard and the requirements for configuring your system so it can work with Blackboard.
Selected master's and doctoral online and blended courses may use Elluminate Live! synchronous software for class instruction. The note field on the registration site denotes if the course contains a synchronous component. Find training, help pages, and computer configuration requirements.
The ISU HelpDesk provides software you may download for online courses and assistance with technology problems. (The ISU instructor cannot help with specific technology issues; the HelpDesk supports Blackboard use.)
Once instructors develop their course syllabi they are posted online. These generally are posted during the first week of each course. View course syllabi.
